How to Use a Chainsaw Sharpener

Who wants a completely useless dull chainsaw, right?
If you operate the dull chainsaw, you know it’s a matter of pain. And realize the importance of a sharpen saw. A nicely sharpen saw will make your trimming experience accurate, fast and fun.
On the other hand, if you are a pro or have to cut the wood frequently, sharpen saw makes financial sense. 
How to use a chainsaw sharpener properly?
Well, it’s not Rocket science. Just follow the instruction given below and make it fun.

So the first thing you should consider is actually when your chainsaw need to sharp?
Well, all you have to do is check out the waste material at the ground from your saw cut. If you see the dust that means it needs to sharp. And if it creates chips, it indicates the saw is sharp enough.
What will you need?
·         A chainsaw blade
·         A chainsaw sharpener
Now get back to work and try to follow step by step that shows the best way to sharpen a chainsaw.

Step 1: Setting the File

1.       First Clamp, the bar of the, saw to your work surface.
2.       Use the adjusting screw to balance and tighten the chain. Remember that the screw can be indifferent on the different saw. You have to figure out the right one.
3.       Mark your first tooth with the help of a permanent marker.
4.       Carefully select a round file according to the diameter as the chainsaw's teeth.
5.       Set the file in the notch on the front of the cutter.
6.       Try to Use a file holder to hold the file at the same angle.

Step 2: Sharpening the Cutters

To sharpen the cutter, slide the file across its face. Then told the file as it place flat or level on the top of the chain. You should file the cuter 4 to 10 times it is sharp enough. Now sharpen every second tooth just from the starting point.
What about chainsaw sharpening angles?
 Rotate the saw 180 degrees. Try to use the same motion and chainsaw sharpening tools.

Step 3: Filing the Rakers

Put a depth gauge over the saw’s chain. Be careful if any part of the raker remains the top of the depth gauge. Apply a flat mill bastard file for level up the raker. Ensure that form that you file every other raker at the same height. Then loosen the chain as well as release the chainsaw. Refill the oil reservoir in your chainsaw.

Chainsaw Sharpening Tips

·         Always wear protective gloves when sharpening a chainsaw or cutting attachment.
·         Remember Chainsaw teeth are quite sharp and will cause injury.
·         Read the user manual and instruction properly before sharpening the saw. Meanwhile, the different brand sharpener is quite different.  Electric chainsaw sharpener is not same as Stihl chainsaw sharpener.  So follow the instruction.

·         Don’t pull the file backward, as this can damage both the cutter and your file itself.
